Morpho helenor
Morpho helenor
Decorative frame (156 x 205 x 43 mm)
Native to the rainforests of Central and South America, the Morpho helenor is one of the most iconic tropical butterflies. Its azure blue wings with metallic sheen owe their brilliance not to pigment, but to the microscopic structure of its scales that diffracts light. Active during the day, it often flies at the edges of forests and participates in pollination, while occupying an essential place in the food chain.
Please note: the abdomen of this specimen has been removed, as with all Morphos . This is naturally rich in fat, which could alter the butterfly over time and stain the wings. This precaution ensures optimal preservation and an impeccable aesthetic presentation.
The frame can be hung on a wall, or simply placed, according to your wishes.
